Volunteer Assistant Basketball Coach
For several weeks, I served as an assistant basketball coach for the 8th-grade boys’ team at Howell Middle School North in Monmouth County, NJ. Unfortunately, by the time I left for school, I had not achieved my finite goal of winning the championship. I helped take the team as far as the semi-finals, and was only able to wish them the best in the championship game. Regardless, this was such a rewarding experience. Being able to go back to the middle school I attended and give back was incredible. With only a seven-year age gap between myself and the boys, we got along quite well. I appreciated the way they looked up to me and respected me, as well as the camaraderie we were able to build. What an experience!
