Intern

  1. During my 10-week internship at Morgan Stanley, I provided financial advisors with customized mock investment strategies tailored to each client’s unique profile. These strategies were based on factors such as risk tolerance, expected returns, and the client’s overall health and lifestyle considerations. In addition, I supported Managing Directors and Executive Directors with their day-to-day responsibilities, gaining insight into the operational side of private wealth management. I also had the opportunity to sit in on client calls, where I observed firsthand how advisors communicate portfolio recommendations and market updates to high-net-worth individuals. Beyond client interactions, I conducted research and analysis on recent mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity to help advisors identify trends and opportunities for prospective clients.
  2. As part of a four-person intern team, I collaborated on a comprehensive mock client pitch designed to demonstrate Morgan Stanley’s wealth management services and investment solutions. We were assigned a hypothetical client scenario and tasked with developing a full investment plan that reflected both the client’s goals and the firm’s strategic approach to portfolio construction. Our team also formulated and defended our capital market expectations for the upcoming years, grounding our recommendations in real economic data. We presented our findings to a panel of Financial Advisors, Managing Directors, and other professionals at Morgan Stanley, receiving feedback on both our approach and presentation skills.
  3. The knowledge and experience I gained during my internship directly connect to the Portfolio Management course I am currently taking. This class focuses on the construction, diversification, and performance evaluation of investment portfolios—concepts I observed in practice throughout my internship. My time at Morgan Stanley reinforced the theoretical foundations of asset allocation, risk-return optimization, and client relationship management, providing a strong correlation between classroom learning and real-world financial literacy and strategy.
