Social Media Intern
During my social media internship at the YMCA in the summer of 2024, I supported the organization’s communication and outreach efforts by creating and managing digital content that promoted youth programs, community events, fitness classes, and member services. I developed content calendars, designed graphics, and produced short-form videos and photos to highlight the YMCA’s mission and everyday activities. I worked closely with staff and program directors to gather information and featured staff and personal trainers who encouraged community engagement. I also created interactive posts to boost engagement and increase visibility for key programs. By monitoring analytics and tracking trends, I learned how to adjust strategies to better reach families, volunteers, and local community members. This experience strengthened my marketing and communication skills while allowing me to apply concepts from my Marketing major and Business Analytics minor, such as branding, consumer engagement, and data-driven decision making, to real-world social media management.
