Social Media Intern
As a Social Media Intern for the University of Scranton’s Center for Student Engagement (CSE) for the past two years, I manage social media communication for campus-wide events, clubs, and student initiatives. My role involves creating, planning, and posting content for the CSE Scranton Instagram account. I collaborated with student leaders and campus organizations to highlight events, promote engagement opportunities, and ensure consistent messaging. I also monitor and respond to messages and comments.
I work on a wide range of projects that support student involvement and promote campus life. I create promotional graphics, videos, and short-form content for major events such as the Activities Fair and Student Officer Spotlights. I manage weekly content calendars and collaborate with student organizations to produce spotlight features that highlight their missions and encourage students to get involved. I also develop and execute interactive social media campaigns, including contest giveaways designed to boost engagement and build excitement around campus events. Throughout the internship, I track analytics to evaluate performance and use that data to refine strategies and improve overall reach.
My internship directly connects to my Marketing major and Business Analytics minor by allowing me to apply classroom concepts in a real-world setting. I strengthened my communication, creativity, and project management skills. Working independently and collaboratively helped me build confidence in managing deadlines and producing content that supports a large university audience.
